Nestled in the heart of Fordsburg, Syrian Rose has wholesome tasty food, friendly service and great milkshakes. Note that you'll need to find parking on the busy town street & be prepared to walk a bit. The beef shwarma, flavoursome chips, fresh coleslaw & refreshing strawberry milkshake were amazing! For such a filling meal the bill for our family of 4 came to under R400! The guy creating the shwarma wraps was a treat to watch & added to the sense that we were in another exotic location, even with the loud traffic outside. We will be back!

On the corner of one of the busiest streets in Fordsburg, one can find Syrian Rose. It’s a fantastic little restaurant offering fresh Syrian cuisine which includes Shwarmas, platters, grills and juices. As mentioned it is small so seating can be a bit challenging but worth it. We opted for a platter as well as the wrap, both incredibly delicious, flavourful and generous portions but that laffa bread is really something special. The olive leaf starter was awesome a treat as well. The avocado & date shake was fantastic and definitely worth a try. If you are interested in Middle Eastern cuisine this is definitely a must try.

Tried this place today as I was in the area. Even thou Fordsbrg has deteriorated the restaurant is ambiance is excellent. The open doors and the flow to the place gives you a taste of eating in middle east. The food prices are perfect if you are on a budget and the meal sizes are really big. Basically two people shared one meal. The fresh juices are worth the try and perfect for summer.

Such a beautiful gem in Jozi! Loved the food, the people and the ambiance! Their food is Uber delicious and super filling!!!! Loved loved their laffa bread.... The bread-making process is also interesting!

A tantalising and authentic Syrian food experience. The prices are reasonable, portions plentiful and the food is absolutely delicious. From freshly made Hummus, to the tender Mixed Grills, you will definitely not be disappointed. The service is also excellent, with staff going out of their way to make sure the customer is always happy. A must-try if you happen to be in the area, or worth the day-trip if you're not.
